Homemade Chipwiches

Homemade Chipwiches – anyone interested?  Yup, I thought so!

Chipwiches are a simple summer classic that are easily achievable at home.  Even the most novice baker can swiftly whip these up in under 30min.  Here’s how you do it:

  • 1 package Nestle’s Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Pre-Cut
  • 1 tub Vanilla Ice Cream
  • 1 pack Nestle’s Mini Chocolate Chips
  1. Pre-heat oven to 350F and lightly grease two baking sheets with Crisco, Margarine, or Vegetable Oil. Next, break apart dough as cut and place onto baking sheets. I find the pre-cut squares to be a bit too small, so I combine two squares to make one cookie. Bake cookies as directed for 12 minutes, then allow to cool on stovetop.
  2. While the cookies cool, remove ice cream from freezer and allow to soften. Meanwhile, pour mini chocolate chips into a small bowl. When ready, spoon 1 large tablespoon of ice cream onto the bottom of one cookie, then sandwich together with another. To finish, use a teaspoon to spoon the mini chocolate chips around all sides of the sandwich, then place in the freezer to chill for at least 3 hours. When ready, serve and enjoy a homemade frozen bite of summer!
