Odds, Ends, Updates, & Upcoming Recipes
It’s been a very hectic two weeks for this chick right here, and I think it’s time we discuss.
First – I miss you peeps!! I seriously, totally miss yapping to you about food and fun and whatever other nonsense my mind drifts to. It’s amazing how little strangers on the subway care about the art of the perfect cheese plate or the acceptability of ice cream for dinner – I mean helllooo! These are important topics.
Thank god I have you guys.
If you’re wondering about the pics speckled throughout this post, let me fill ya in.
I’ve been getting into all sorts of shenanigans since we last spoke, among them a faboosh beach wedding where Dave and I looked all sorts of adorbs, the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic where I drank my weight in champagne and werrrked the most diva hat ever, and lastly enjoying the lunchtime water views at South Street Seaport, because for the love of cheese it is FINALLY warm outside.
So why have I been so MIA? Ya know… besides being awesome?
My recipe hiatus was prompted by a considerable camera glitch, a problem that I handled
with calm and ease by raising my fists to the sky and screaming WHY ME?!! while Dave rolled his eyes and cracked open another beer. It all started with a scratch on my beloved point-and-shoot lens, a scratch that left this ugly, annoyying, fuzzy grey blur on every damn photo I took. No matter what I tried I couldn’t buff out the scratch, I couldn’t photoshop the blur, and somehow complaining to an empty room didn’t help either.
So what’s a girrrrl to do? Buy a new camera.
After much self-induced theatrics (because…. of course) I settled on the Canon EOS Rebel T3i, and I have to say I am beyond stoked to start photographing on here with a real DSLR! I feel so legit now, so official. I’m still learning all of the ins and outs because there are so. many. features! But overall I can’t wait to start showing you killer snaps of my food.
Which brings me to my last point – Upcoming recipes!! Anything specific you’d like to see around here? Things you like and want more of? Things you don’t like and want me to quit it? Ideas, suggestions, undying praise? I’m open to all of it!
